Turn Seasonal Events Into Business Success!
Let’s talk about something that frustrates many of my coaching clients – their marketing just isn’t getting the attention it deserves. And you know what? I completely understand why.
Most marketing out there is, let’s be honest, pretty uninspiring:
- It blends into the background
- It feels repetitive and stale
- Your prospects have seen it all before
- It’s easily ignored
But here’s the exciting part – there’s a simple way to make your marketing stand out, and it’s right in front of us: seasonal events and celebrations!
Why Seasonal Marketing Works So Well
Here’s something I always tell my clients: the best marketing enters conversations that are already happening in your prospects’ minds. Right now, people are thinking about Halloween. Next month, they’ll be thinking about Bonfire Night. After that, Christmas will be on everyone’s mind.
It’s much easier to join these existing conversations than to try and start new ones. Plus, when you align your marketing with these events, you instantly become more relevant and engaging. You’re no longer just another business promotion – you’re part of the current moment.
Your Six-Month Marketing Calendar
Let me share with you my proven seasonal marketing calendar. I use this with my coaching clients, and it works brilliantly. Here’s how to make the most of each month:
October – Halloween
Get spooky with your marketing! Try these proven approaches:
- “This Offer’s So Good It’s Scary!”
- “Don’t be haunted with regret – grab this deal now!”
- My favourite trick: Send a piece of Halloween candy with your marketing material and headline it “Here’s your first Halloween treat… and there’s more where that came from!”
November – Bonfire Night
Light up your marketing with these sparkling ideas:
- “This offer’s on FIRE!”
- “Hurry – this deal’s going up in smoke soon!”
- Use this creative deadline: “Remember, remember the 5th of November… because that’s when this offer expires!”
December – Christmas
‘Tis the season to boost your business:
- “Yule love these Christmas offers!”
- Create separate “Naughty” and “Nice” list offers
- Send Christmas card-style marketing pieces
- Use Santa’s deadline (December 24th) as your offer expiry
January – New Year
Capitalise on fresh starts:
- “New Year, New Opportunities!”
- Create a resolution-based campaign
- Offer special deals to those who stick to their January goals
- Use progress tracking to keep engaging with prospects
February – Valentine’s Day
Show your prospects some love:
- Design marketing pieces that look like Valentine’s cards
- “Find your perfect match…” (linking to your product/service)
- “This offer will be gone in a heartbeat!”
- Pro tip: Hand-write cards, sign as “Your Secret Admirer” and include a QR code
March – St Patrick’s Day
Get lucky with these ideas:
- “It’s your lucky day!”
- Create a “Pot of Gold” promotion
- Use an interactive “Spin the Wheel” promotion
- Theme everything green!
Making This Work For Your Business
Here’s what I want you to understand – this isn’t about completely reinventing your marketing. It’s about taking your existing offers and giving them seasonal relevance. But remember, and this is crucial – you need to start with a strong offer.
Before you jump into the seasonal themes, make sure you’ve got your core offer nailed down. Ask yourself:
- Is your offer compelling?
- Does it solve a real problem?
- Is it clearly communicated?
- Does it provide genuine value?
Ready to Transform Your Marketing?
I’d love to help you implement these ideas in your business. The best part? You can start right now with Halloween – it’s not too late to create something engaging and different that will grab your prospects’ attention.
Remember, marketing doesn’t have to be boring. By tapping into these seasonal themes, you can create campaigns that are fun, engaging, and most importantly, effective.
